Currently have ADSL and am on month 1 of a 12 month contract. But looking at moving to fibre. I was told by spark, that they will allow me to signup to fibre at no additional fee within the 12 month ADSL contract, and it will renew my 12 month contract from the date this happens. However it is likely I will be moving to a house that is located in part of NZ which doesn't yet have fibre within 12 months. So I would need to switch back to ADSL. Would I have to pay a break fee if this occurs. I won't have to pay a break fee if I move from ADSL to Fibre, but will I have to pay a break fee if it was the other way around?

Spark mobile "IT upgrade" outage 6 hours and counting
My wife's prepay mobile needs to be topped up, but since approximately 3:00 pm today she has been unable to top-up or check her prepay account balance. When attempting to call anyone an automated message plays stating that an "IT upgrade" is in progress and to try again later. The Spark mobile service alert page at https://www.spark.co.nz/help/servicealert/mobileservicealert notes that there is an "PPHD" issue affecting some customers but offers no advice on when it might be resolved. Does anyone here know what a PPHD issue is and how long it typically takes to resolve?I have not seen this mentioned in any forum yet, so does anyone else have the same issue and/or know if this is a widespread problem or if it just affects a small number of customers? My wife is stuck at the moment - she cannot make any calls because she has no credit, but is not able to top-up because of the outage. If this sounds familiar to anyone and they know of a way to top-up during an outage I'd be very interested in their response...

UFB speeds significantly lower at night
HiWe were on UFB 30 via Spark (Hamilton) - and were getting a solid 20-25 Mbps on Speettest via Andriod App all during the dayWe went to naked UFB100 and now most nights we are lucky to get above 5 Mbps - during the day the results are in the 30-50 range - but at night it drops right down to under 10 and sometimes under 5.We watch alot of Netflix and rarely at night time are able to get it to stream in HD (Apple TV, Sony Smart TV both utilised) - during the day no issues and it looks fantasticIs this what is happening to everyone or is it a problem with our connection? My friend who works at Spark says it is due to all the people using Netflix at night - but if this was the case I would have thought there would be more of an uproarWeird thing is that UFB was working so fantastic for us and this is a recent issue (past 3 weeks)Any ideas of what to try for better night time speeds?Below is a screenshot - the 29 Mbps was in the morning - all the others are at night / weekend afternoon

VDSL speed plummeting in evening.
The last few nights here in ChCh my speeds have plummeted in the evenings. Usually I get 38Mbps. At 7.15 tonight speed has dropped to 19Mbps.Last night at 9pm it was below 7Mbps. I have lodged a complaint and so far I've had a reply asking the usual things...are you testing over wifi etc. Testing speeds over ethernet via Spark website. I've been taking screenshots...provided Spark with one at 38 and the other at 6.I know about the "Netflix effect" supposedly affecting most ISPs but is anyone else being affected this badly? Not a happy camper!!! :(Just now at 7.30pm as I finish typing this it's 17Mbps.

Spark VoIP Installation and Speeds on the new 200/20 plans
Can anyone who are with Spark and on the 200/20 VoIP Unlimited plan tell me if the below installation and speeds are how they should be? Chorus used a TP-Link splitter to have my Integrated phone wiring to work. I was hoping they would install another white box beside the ONT and back feed to the ENT at the external of house?Secondly, I have moved from 100/50 plan to 200/20 plan. The upload speed has dropped from 50 to 20 but the download speed has not gone more than 100Mb/s to 200Mb/s ?I am using the Spark supplied Gigabit modem with Wired Gigabit connection on a desktop PC. Is OOkla Speedtest the right way to determine the speeds?

Help with port forwarding (telecom HG630b)
Hello,I recently downloaded GameRanger hoping to jam some games online with a few of my buddies. Unfortunately I discovered my Telecom HG630b router blocks the port GameRanger uses by default. So I got on my router's webpage and navigated my way to the port mapping tab which is the part I need help with. GameRanger uses UDP port 16000, but I am not sure which fields to fill out below:Can anyone tell me which fields need filling with what?Thankyou in advance.

Does The Huawei HG659b support NAT Loopback?
I have 4x IP cameras that I access using my Android phone transparently both from within my local network, and externally using my external static IP. Thankfully along with port forwarding on my Technicolor TG589vn V2 VDSL modem this works very well due to NAT loopback. Looking ahead to when we'll move to Spark fibre around December, I'm thinking ahead and have an HG659b on the way as I believe the HG630 doesn't support NAT loopback. Does the HG659b support NAT loopback and if not, any suggestions for an easy to setup router that I could use instead? Would one of the TP-Link Archer models interface directly to the ONT?I'd prefer to keep this simple rather than setup DNS servers etc, even if security isn't as good.

How to set mobile data caps on Spark?
I would like to change to Spark, however so far I'm stuck in a loop on their website trying to set the data caps so when my prepay "plan" runs out of data, it doesn't automatically start burning up all my credit on casual data at 4G speeds.I've looked around, and followed the online instructions, but so far everything I've tried winds up in a big circle back at the start. This could be because whenever I type m.spark.co.nz/yt it redirects me, or it could be because I see no "Manage Services" which is the next step in the instructions. I would ideally like to port tomorrow if I can get past this frustrating barrier to doing so.Thanks :)

PBX in a Flash with Huawei HG659b Router Issue
our new small business office has got a PBX in a Flash installed on a virtual box in the cloud(which is Auckland Data center). And our office are using VDSL(Changing to UFB in a few weeks) with Spark. Our phone system is playing up. It rings when there is a incoming call, but we just could not pick up. even between extensions would be the same situation. But we can call out no problem. I've tried using my mobile with SIP phone APP through 4G data(which is not in our LAN), it works perfect every single time. I guess it's the router problem, it doesn't route properly (but the internet is working fine), I've disabled SIP ALG on the router already. Can i do something with the firewall setting or other settings to fix this issue? Thanks Guys.

Naked Broadband ??
Hi thereDo Spark now offer true naked broadband for home users . From memory, you previously had to have a Spark mobile a/c to get Naked Broad band ?My land line ph isnt even plugged in, so I can do away without it. Or use 2Talk prepay .I assume I would still have to pay line charges, so would there be any worthwhile savings ?Its not clearly explained on the website. Cheers

Moving HG659B homepage to port 8080
Has anyone managed to get the homepage to port 8080 rather then 80? I self web host and I'd like to continue doing so far I can't find an option to do so. I have read the guide they have on the Spark Website but it doesn't automatically move like it does with my NF4V(Orcon's supplied router and sadly I can't keep it)Would be great if I can do this with out flashing the vf firmware(I did look before and flashing it was the only answer but I really don't want to do this).

Plans wrong, but Spark insisting they aren't - HELP
We have recently upgraded out two UFB business plans to the 200/200 unlimited plans, however the changes do not appear to be correct. On one connection we are correctly getting 200Mbps, but the usage meter says we are on a 500GB plan, and we are getting usage alert emails. The other connection, the usage meter says we are on the 100/100 with a 200GB limit, speed tests report a 100Mbps connection. When I talk to Spark they insist that both connections have been put on the 200/200 unlimited plans, and the back and forth is getting frustrating. Is there a clever Spark person here who can look at these connection for me if I PM the connection details? In the past I have had more success from dealing with Spark employees on this forum than by calling them. Thanks in advance.
